A little bit about us...
The French Pantry was set up in September 2007 by Simon and Gemma King when they realised that the romance of regional French food and wine was under-represented in the UK. Their fascination with French artisan food producers and winemakers has lead them to explore regions of France such as Brittany, Picardie, The Loire, Burgundy, the Perigord and the South West in search of genuine small artisan producers, themselves involved in the craft of creating classic French delicacies.

We specialise in providing the very best in regional French food and Wines. Our suppliers are small artisan conserveries and vineyards, all of which work closely with us to bring our customers a direct link to the famous and romantic food producing regions of France. |
 Our extensive and original wine selection is provided by our good friends David and Jerome Harlington. We were proud to join forces with Harlington Wine in May 2008 and now display an extensive portfolio of wines imported direct from small independent wineries all over France, Italy and Slovenia.Through David and Jerome, we have had the privilege of visiting many of these artisan winemakers ourselves and regularly work together to deliver education workshops and social tasting events, introducing people to the fascinating world of food and wine matching. |
The shop itself, based in the charming and historic market town of Ludlow in south Shropshire, provides a fascinating addition to the plethora of other local food producers, markets, restaurants and delis in this fertile and beautiful area of England. Whether your favourite is Cassoulet, Confit de Canard, Grillons and carefully produced Foie Gras from the South West, or the rich Beef Bourguignon and Coq Au Vin from Burgundy, or the earthy salt marsh lamb and warming Fish soups from the fertile north west, our shelves contain many treats to excite the taste buds and the imagination.
