Based in the charming and fertile department of Picardie in the North West of France, Eric Van Oust and his team create Pâtes, Terrines and complete dishes that are a direct representation of the produce of the area. Picardie itself, with its strong influence of the sea, produces the best Salt Marsh Lamb or Agneau Pré Salé in the world. The Conserverie is rightly famous for it’s rendition of the French classic Navarin D’Agneau (Lamb and vegetable Stew) and it’s own Terrine D’Agneau Pré Salé (Terrine of Salt Marsh Lamb), which has just received a Médaille d'or and Saveur de Picardie label rouge (mark of origin and quality). There brand new Soupe De Poissons is the single best Fish Soup we have ever tried!

Situated in the remote and idealic village of St. Croix de Marueil in the North Perigord, Henri and Veronique Boullier have a small but exceptional business producing the very finest Ducks and Geese. Henri, a wonderful chef himself, cooks and preserves a selection of the wonderful classic dishes from the south west of France. We are the only shop you can get Henri’s wonderful products in the UK. If you love Cassoulet, please try his, it combines rich 4 day hung duck, local Marueil sausage and a secret and highly regarded haricot sauce cuisine.

We source ‘real’ wines direct from independent producers and have exclusive distribution partnerships with them in the UK. We have recently started to branch out exploring distribution opportunities in new emerging markets further a field with them. We keep a tight hold of our costs and are able to offer excellent value, first class wines without squeezing our dedicated producers. There is a real danger that the increasing tide of simple factory wine is threatening the diverse flavours and tastes the world of wine has to offer. We want to play our small part in ensuring that "real wines" that have a "sense of place" are, at the very least, accessible to the fastest growing sector of the market, targeting those wine consumers whose purchasing decisions are based more on the quality, provenance and character of a wine rather than simply a matter of price...

LA BECASSE

La Becasse is a fine dining restaurant set in the medieval market town of Ludlow, Shropshire. The restaurant is warm and welcoming, combining classic & contemporary style. We offer relaxed, knowledgeable & professional service, overseen by restaurant manager Gres. His charming nature makes him the perfect host.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Will Holland. He’s a skilled craftsman and technician, and was previously Head Chef at Michelin starred L’Ortolan Restaurant, Berkshire for over three years. Will is now firmly established behind the stoves in Ludlow.
Will and his brigade cook with the finest seasonal ingredients. They work closely with local suppliers and producers and wherever possible use produce that is ‘Local to Ludlow’.
